I wondered if anyone knows if Dr. Bush was a GP?
My godfather swears that he was one of Dr. Bush’s patients.

    • Dr. Bush was a GP who practiced in Plumstead.

    • Lynn

He was my doctor – practiced in Plumstead !!

      • Ann Squires ne Watson of Liffler Road Plumstead.

He was our doctor my self and husband and two children. He told me I was going to be a mum in 1969 for the first time. We left his practice in 1976 when we move to Tonbridge Kent.

Hey Ann, how comes you didn’t move just across the Kent boarder to Dartford/Bexleyheath??

I met a friend in SE London other day in Plumstead and walked past Barth road + walked to Plumstead Gardens many memories there!
My friend Fraser him and his family’s GP was Kate’s dad Robert Bush who worked in South East London in Plumstead. And we used to speak to him loads when he finished work or when we was in Kent in Bexleyheath,Welling, Dartford, Swanley, etc, on our bikes.
He sometimes gave us a lift back to Kent from Plumstead-Such a nice man! + sometimes said hello to Hannah as well and she would make us massive jug of coled orange squash + met Kate/Del Palmer few times etc
Great memories I will always cherish! ?

I remember the old surgery in Plumstead.

    • Robert

      Hi Where was his surgery.

      Thanks

      Robbie

      • Steve

Barth road the surgery is still there but has been re modernised.

      • Paul

Hi Robert, the first Surgery I remember as a child was on the road from plumstead to Woolwich. As you go from plumstead to Woolwich it was on the left side of the road, a house. We used to walk through the house and out the back and the waiting room was at the back of the garden. Dr Bush’s surgery was in a corridor through the house, his surgery had a sliding door. I think the house was before you got to the fire station at lake dale road. I think the surgery then moved to bath road.
        Regards Paul Reeve.

    • Mike

It is still there in Barth Road!

Before the surgery went to bath road. I think it use to be over the other side of the Plumstead Woolwich road. You use to walk through the house out the back and right at the back of the garden was a waiting room. Dr Bush had a sliding door on His surgery which was through a passage through the house from what I remember. A lovely man.

  5. Robert Peto

Dr Bush was our family GP from 1976.
    Absolute amazing man.
Fond memories of meeting Kate in the surgery waiting room.
As a young 7 year old I have vivid memories of Dr Bush with an amazing moustache.

He was my doctor too and we knew Hannah

  7. Adam

He was my GP in the 1970s. At the time, the surgery was at the corner of Plumstead High Street and Church Manorway. Perhaps it moved to Barth Street later on.

Around the time you have mentioned Dr.Bush had his practice in Plumstead and some of my friends used to go to his home, at Welling, to listen to music and use swimming pool .Never got an invite myself – though I tried hard to wriggle an invitation haha. Kate was a baby back then
