Kate has this morning posted yet another message to her fans via her official site, www.katebush.com – delighted for you, Kate! Enjoy it all, richly deserved.
Running Up That Hill has just gone to No 2 in the UK charts and No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Sweden….
How utterly brilliant! It’s hard to take in the speed at which this has all been happening since the release of the first part of the Stranger Things new series. So many young people who love the show, discovering the song for the first time.
The response to Running Up That Hill is something that has had its own energy and volition. A direct relationship between the shows and their audience and one that has stood completely outside of the music business. We’ve all been astounded to watch the track explode!
Thanks so much to everyone who has supported the song and a really special thank you to the Duffer Brothers for creating something with such heart .
All best wishes,
Just shows Kates music is ageless. Younger generation will now have the experience to listen to her whole catologue of work. We can only hope Kate might make an appearance some time soon ?
Amazing news! Kate has also made the music video available to purchase now on iTunes which is great
Surreal. Friday night (June the 10th), Warszawa, we had all day meetings at the university and in the evening we went out on the town to celebrate successful project. We went to koszykowa sreet, a very popular district full of restaurants, clubs, cafes, a place where there are always an awful lot of people. we went in to the club, I don’t remember the name, a nightclub, a combination of live music, disco podium, restaurant, bar, garden, there were people of all ages and categories, including us over 50. We found a live band playing latin music, the club was fully packed, people danced, ate, drank, there was a superb atmosphere. After the live band finished the block, Kate Bush started Running up that Hill, loudest, on all speakers !! Shock. Kate at a nightclub? Surreal. It’s surreal to hear that song after 40 years in at the club, turned out to be at the strongest volume. I always wanted that. I was 14 when Hounds of Love was in the shops, I always wanted to hear it loudest, at the club, in the stadium. And I finally got it.
